Try unloading the i8k module:
rmmod i8k

If running dellfand works put it into modprobe blacklist to permanently disable loading this module:
echo "blacklist i8k" >> /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf

Uuendasin pcsc-lite 1.6.6 versiooni peale. See versioon ei sisalda ühtegi minu lisa-modifikatsiooni kuna kõik muudatused sai lükatud upstream-i.

Nüüd tuleb ainult ära oodata millal Ubuntu võtab 1.6.5 või uuema pcsc-lite kasutusele

this is 2048 megabytes. I set it high enough so Ubuntu CD ISOs would be cached also.

the lines

- maximum_object_size 2048 MB is it 2048 Megabit or Kilobyte cause in squid’s config file the uncommented line is suggesting 4096 Kilobyte

i am planing to put it to 20 000 kilobyte

If Squid is down and the iptables rule is still redirecting traffic to 3128 then web will be inaccessible.

You can not redirect UDP or P2P traffic to Squid because Squid doesn’t know how to cache those protocols. Squid pretty much only works with HTTP and FTP.

Limiting bandwidth by IP can be done with iptables, look up HTB and Iptables in Google.

Limiting download speed for one file means limiting speed for each HTTP connection. This again should be doable with itpables.

Thanks a lot for this tuto cos i have finally get my squid transparent proxy working.
But i still have lttle quetions

-What of if the squid sever is down for any other reason such as usb on wich it is install is not working…that mean that because of the iptable it will not be possible to access the router coz all packet 80 ar sen to 3128 wich may be off that time

-can i redirect all remain port to 3128? should i do the same for UDP, Peer etc..

-is possible to set up end down bandwith usage per ip or range ip
-is possible to limit internet file downloading speed per user

There are helpers for Debian Python packages, in particular python-support (more popular) and python-central. You can find howtos for them although many aren’t great.
